I need someone to explain to me how BANE is relevant enough to be the main villan in the new Batman movie.
I don’t understand.
Bane is the stupidest villan to have chosen for the movie. There were so many other good choices.
No there was no other choice,Ra’s,Joker,Harvey and Crane were done.That leaves only 2 good villains in Bane and Ivy(who’s not realistic by Nolan’s definition).Other than those 2 we have Talia and Catwoman who are’nt exactly villains and both are appearing in the movie.That leaves us with morons like Croc and Clayface or one trick ponies like Riddler,Freeze,Hush,Black Mask etc who dont even have an ounce of Bane’s depth and character,oh yeah lets not forget Penguin,Egg fu etc.I’m sure the general audience would have loved those guys lol.

In response to a series of posts on Kate’s blog re: religion and the House al-Ghul.
Personally, I don’t think Ra’s al-Ghul answers to any higher power than himself. Islam would have been a predominantly urban religion when he was a child and young man growing up in a tribal society….
Nah I dont think they are Muslims,I just tend to think of them as people who exploit eastern traditions for their own benefit,and technically Ra’s does search for a male heir so when you say Talia enjoys a higher status you’re not exactly 100% correct.
My husband just mentioned to me that Bane is, in fact, Latino. Thus the lucha libre-like mask. Tom Hardy: not Latino.
Seems like another case of Hollywood whitewashing, which is both unsurprising and disappointing.
Go to comicbookmovie,there you will find interviews from both of Bane’s creators Chuck Dixon and Graham Nolan.Neither has a problem with Hardy.
Just when I thought I couldn’t hate him any more…Believe me, Jason, I will always hate Bane fifty times more that anyone who’s hatred consistently grows. There is no retribution in my eyes for such an act, as rape, committed by anyone against anyone.
Wait how about genocide for starters? hmmm how about the fact Talia lied to sleep with Jason(claimed her father was dead when he was’nt? and all that to set Jason against Bruce),how about the daughter of Acheron trying to rape Tim Drake,how about Ra’s al Ghul trying to force Black Canary to marry him while Talia was looking on,how about marrying a drugged/unconscious Bruce Wayne? how about tricking Jean Paul Valley in to almost marrying Talia?Bane did’nt come close to raping Talia,that so called duress from her father came AFTER she had willingly slept with him and enjoyed it a great deal.The most Bane did was kiss her forcibly and that too after she had tried to KILL him for NO REASON AT ALL.
Not to mention Bane was a better parent to Scandal Savage than Talia ever was to Damian and ofcourse Jason is the stupidest,hypocritical and emotional of all the Robins so his opinion is irrelevant lol.
I’d appreciate if you did’nt screw the facts,people can be easily misled.
And this is why Arkham Bane sucks.
Forget the ridiculous tubing,forget the idiotic anatomy,forget the lack of intellect(which they for some reason tried to prove otherwise) but SERIOUSLY HE’S AFRAID OF HARLEY FLIPPIN QUINN? Bane’s fearlessness and will are his defining qualities.Even Ra’s al Ghul pointed it out.
So I have no idea people crap on Tom Hardy’s Bane but praise this fail,overbuilt luchadore.He’s just as bad as Schumacher.

WTF BANE, LAY OFF THE BLEACH
His father was British and that’s the only part of his background that has been confirmed,we do not know what his mother was except that she was a native of some fictional South American country whose customs,culture and traditions are dubious at best.Likewise the prison in which Bane was raised in had foreigners as well,the biggest example being Bird(an American who taught Bane how to read).
These are non issues,Bane was actually Latinofied purposefully outside of comics in order to give him a gimmick(check BTAS).Comics have barely even recognized his maybe Spanish background(emphasis on the word maybe).
I’ll take Nolan’s Bane over what we got in the Arkham Games,Batman and Robin.Bane should’nt be a stereotypical Mexican luchadore,he never was.

Well I guess its a good thing Selina and Talia are already femme fatales with Talia being downright evil currently so Nolan does’nt have to do much tinkering lol.Still I think Catwoman will come out of this movie making Nolan look good,not so sure about Miranda/Talia.
